How Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Works

Blood flow is the key to healing. The challenge with the spine is that it doesn’t get great blood flow. Add in getting older and chances are your spine isn’t getting the same blood flow as when you were younger, making it easy to develop back and/or neck pain.

On top of modest blood flow, the discs between vertebrae take a beating over the years, squishing them down, bumping them around (bulging or herniated discs), and drying out. This leads to disc degeneration, pinched nerves, and chronic inflammation. Symptoms manifest as conditions ranging from sciatica, degenerative disc disease, chronic back pain, chronic neck pain and more.

The good news is that you can reverse a lot of this and get your body out of pain with non-surgical spinal decompression. This method does two very important things: improve blood flow and increase space between discs and vertebrae.

Without adequate blood flow, your discs don’t stay properly hydrated and all parts of your spine can’t keep up with needed healing. Restoring blood flow rehydrates your discs and promotes the healing process, both of which help with long term pain relief.

The increased space further aids blood flow and often brings immediate pain relief for many patients. The extra space allows for bulging discs to maneuver back in place and provides room for regrowth if they’re degenerated. The space also can alleviate pressure on pinched nerves, providing another form of immediate pain relief.
